Pope John Paul II limped to a 1-9 record in 2013 (1-8 in the PAC-10), when the Golden Panthers averaged an area-low 10.3 points per game.

The squad will have a new coach this season in former PJP assistant Rory Graver, with quarterback/receiver/safety Matt Mesaros expected to be a factor all over the field.

Other players expected to make key contributions are: WR/DB Jared Lupold, OL/DL Joe Greenwald, QB/DB Matt Duff, OL/LB Michael Collins, OL/DL Darren Gregory and RB/LB Chase Lynch.
